Rostov State Transport University (RSTU ) was founded on 30 of May in 1929. The RSTU campus is a closed protected area. The campus area is 16 hectares. All educational buildings, 4 dormitories, the Palace of Culture, a sports complex with a stadium, training and production workshops, a canteen, a student clinic are located on the campus territory. There is a green park with alleys, flower beds and benches for rest.
Summer language school “Russian as a foreign language”
Rostov State Transport University offers a 6-week summer language course “Russian as a foreign language” in the Don region for foreign students with accommodation on the university campus.
The summer language school creates conditions for pedagogically expedient, emotional, attractive recreation and leisure of students, meeting the needs for novelty of impressions, creative self-realization and communication, including the Russian language immersion in the culture with visiting popular excursion routes of the Don region.

Winter language school “Russian as a foreign language”
Rostov State Transport University offers a 2-3 week winter language course “Russian as a foreign language” in the Don region for foreign students with accommodation on the university campus. This is an unique opportunity to see the splendor of the snow and feel the frosty air of the Russian winter! The course is intended for students who are considering studying in Russia but they have no idea about Russian culture and language.
The Winter Language School creates conditions for pedagogically expedient, emotional, attractive recreation and leisure of students, meeting the needs for novelty of impressions, creative self-realization and communication, including the Russian language immersion in the culture with visiting popular excursion routes of the Don region.

RSTU Preparatory Department for foreign students
The RSTU preparatory department for foreign students offers educational programs for a period of implementation – 52 weeks: 40 weeks – practical study; 1 week – final interdisciplinary exam; 11 weeks’ vacation (it is two weeks in the winter). During the educational process, foreign citizens adapt to the Russian education system and it is provided the educational support for foreign citizens who do not speak Russian or have an insufficient knowledge of the Russian language.
At the end of the education, the student receives a certificate of mastering an additional general education program that provides further education for foreign citizens and person without citizenship to master professional educational programs in the Russian language.
