On the establishment of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Western Armenia (State of Armenia)

 In accordance with the Law “On the State Structure of the Republic of Western Armenia (State of Armenia), the Status of Deputies of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Western Armenia and the Regulations of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Western Armenia” and by the decision of the joint extended session of the Presidium of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Western Armenia and the Government of the Republic of Western Armenia dated June 21, 2023 (Minutes of the Meeting No. 3/8 dated 21.06.2023)

RESOLVED

  1. To establish the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Western Armenia (State of Armenia).
    Full name of the Academy:
    “Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Western Armenia (State of Armenia)”.
    Abbreviated name of the Academy:
    “Academy of Sciences of Armenia”.
  2. To approve the deputy of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Western Armenia, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Parliament on Education and Science, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Levon Beklaryan as the President of the Academy of Sciences of Armenia.
  3. The Organizational Commission on the formation of the Academy of Sciences of Armenia, headed by the President of the Academy of Sciences of Armenia, Professor Levon Beklaryan, within 3 months to develop and submit the Charter of the Academy of Sciences of Armenia for the approval by the National Assembly (Parliament) of Western Armenia.
  4. To take into account that leading international experts and scientists of scientific centers and universities will be involved in the work on the formation of the Academy of Sciences of Armenia.
  5. To take into account that scientists with outstanding scientific achievements and who have enriched world science with works of paramount scientific importance and have received international recognition will be elected as the members of the Academy of Sciences of Armenia.
  6. Considering that out of 101 elected deputies in the 2nd convocation of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Western Armenia, 14 are scientists, including 6 doctors of sciences, to recommend the organizational commission on the formation of the Academy of Sciences of Armenia to involve them in the upcoming work.
